Christie Brinkley views age as merely a number, expressing her thoughts on approaching her significant upcoming birthday next February. The 69-year-old former Sports Illustrated model openly discussed her surprise at not experiencing the expected sensations associated with her age in a recent interview with People magazine.
As I approach the age of 70, I find that my feelings closely resemble those I had when I was approaching 30. I feel vibrant, robust, and my spirit seems unaffected by the number associated with my age. Hence, I see no reason not to continue embracing life with the same spirited energy.
In addition to maintaining a positive outlook, Brinkley also devotes attention to her appearance.
Brinkley recently shared her acceptance of her naturally blonde hair transitioning to gray through a post on social media. She raised the question of whether to keep the gray or not.
When discussing the matter with the media outlet, Brinkley acknowledged that some individuals attach significance to the decision of embracing or avoiding gray hair. They may view it as a disappointment or interpret it as an attempt to be someone other than oneself. However, Brinkley firmly believes that if something is bothering you, it’s essential to address it and take care of it.
The crucial aspect is to prioritize what suits you best. People will exert pressure on you from various directions.
In March, when Brinkley embraced her natural roots, she expressed gratitude that both options—embracing the gray or maintaining her previous hair color—were simply matters of personal preference or a fun change of style.
Brinkley shared that her son found her gray roots to be “cool,” but also suggested that she might consider waiting until her hair turns more silver and resembles whitecaps rather than a wave of gray. The final decision is still pending.
Additionally, Brinkley, who serves as an ambassador for Pet Life Unlimited, divulged her personal insights into what contributes to her sense of youthfulness.
According to Brinkley, she expressed her belief that fixating on age does not contribute to a better feeling about it. During a senior dog adoption event in New York, she shared with People magazine that maintaining a sense of curiosity about the world and having a desire to make the most of each day are what keep a person youthful and motivated.
As the owner of Bellissima Wine, Brinkley also revealed her favorite moments in life and the things that bring a smile to her face on a daily basis. She expressed her love for the company of family and friends, cherishing those times when they can gather, sit together, and share laughter, as she believes that laughter has the power to heal all.
Brinkley has two children with her former husband, Peter Cook, with whom she was married from 1996 to 2008. The couple parted ways when Brinkley discovered that Cook was allegedly involved in a romantic relationship with his 19-year-old assistant.
As part of the divorce settlement, Brinkley was granted custody of their children, while Cook received $2.1 million in the proceedings. Furthermore, Brinkley has a daughter named Alexa Ray Joel, aged 37, from her previous relationship with singer-songwriter Billy Joel.
