Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, is reportedly in discussions to secure $10 billion in funding, which would push its valuation to $75 billion.
According to a Bloomberg report on Friday, xAI is engaging with existing investors—including Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, and Valor Equity Partners—to participate in the funding round. If successful, this would bring xAI’s total capital raised to $22.4 billion, as per Crunchbase data. However, Bloomberg emphasized that the negotiations are still ongoing, and the final terms of the deal could change.
This potential capital infusion comes as xAI reportedly considers purchasing over $5 billion worth of Dell servers to enhance its AI infrastructure. These investments aim to support the expansion of xAI’s AI models, including its Grok series, which powers several features on Musk’s social media platform, X, such as trending topic summaries.
Musk also revealed that the next major iteration, Grok 3, is expected to launch in the coming weeks. He made this announcement during a live-streamed appearance at a technology conference in Dubai.
What is xAI?

Founded by Elon Musk in March 9, 2023, xAI (short for “Explainable AI”) is an artificial intelligence company focused on developing advanced AI models with a strong emphasis on transparency, reasoning, and alignment with human values. Unlike traditional AI firms, xAI aims to build truth-seeking AI systems that minimize bias and provide more accurate, explainable responses.
The company’s flagship product, Grok, is a conversational AI model integrated with X (formerly Twitter), offering real-time insights and interactive features. xAI is positioning itself as a direct competitor to OpenAI, Google DeepMind, and Anthropic in the AI space.
With significant investments in computing power and AI infrastructure, xAI is rapidly expanding its capabilities, with Musk envisioning its models playing a critical role in the future of artificial intelligence and digital interaction.
