The aviation industry in Alberta is growing, resulting in increased demand for skilled employees. In response, the Alberta government is investing $5 million in partnership with Elevate Aviation to expand training programs that prepare Albertans for high-demand jobs, such as ground crew, air traffic control, aircraft maintenance, and drone operations.
Elevate Aviation is an established not-for-profit training provider that focuses on preparing women for a career in aviation through its nine-week Women’s Employment Skills Training (WEST) program and Elevate U skills training options.
This partnership is expected to create more opportunities for women to grow their careers and support the aviation industry’s growth, diversity, and vitality in Alberta.
According to Kendra Kincade, the president and CEO of Elevate Aviation, the funding will improve their ability to provide innovative training opportunities for aviation workers and promote the aviation sector as an appealing and rewarding career choice for all genders and diverse groups, thus supporting the future of the industry.
