Lionel Messi has expressed regret to his team & Paris Saint-Germain, for taking an unsanctioned trip to Saudi Arabia and causing inconvenience. Reports in France state that PSG has suspended Messi for two weeks, during which he cannot participate in any team-related activities, and his wages will be reduced.
Messi acknowledged his error in an Instagram story video and apologised to his teammates and the club, stating that he assumed they would have a day off after the match, as they did in previous weeks. Despite rumours that he will not receive a contract extension from PSG, the team’s head coach, Christophe Galtier, has stated that Messi will discuss his immediate future with the club when he returns from his suspension.

Christophe Galtier stated that he was informed by the club about Messi’s suspension, but he did not express his support or opposition to the decision. He clarified that he was not responsible for making that decision.
Various reports have linked Messi to several potential destinations, including Inter Miami in MLS, a return to Barcelona, or a lucrative transfer to Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal. The week has been turbulent for the leaders of the French league, with some supporters gathering outside Neymar’s home and demanding his departure from the club.
Galtier acknowledged the fans’ disappointment and anger but stressed the importance of respecting the players’ privacy. He stated that protesting outside the team’s workplace after a game at Parc des Princes is understandable but going to the players’ private residences is unsafe and out of control. Galtier noted that Neymar had undergone season-ending surgery on his right ankle in March.
