Meissner, a company specializing in advanced microfiltration and therapeutic manufacturing systems, has revealed plans to construct a new manufacturing facility in Athens-Clarke County, Ga. According to the company’s press release on April 6, 2023, the new facility, which will be located at the Christian Industrial Tract in Winterville, will cost almost $250 million to build.
Meissner’s new campus is expected to more than double the size of its current manufacturing operations in the US and create over 1700 new jobs within the next eight years. The facility will feature multiple structures, including state-of-the-art cleanroom facilities, laboratories, research and development areas, and office spaces. The construction is expected to be completed in early 2026.
Christopher Meissner, president of Meissner, expressed his excitement for the company’s upcoming expansion in a press release on April 6, 2023. He stated that the company is thrilled to build its second US manufacturing campus in Athens-Clarke County, Georgia.
Meissner praised the state and county, saying that they are an ideal location for the new facility due to their talented workforce and strategic geographic position, which will allow the company to better serve its clients on the East Coast and around the world. Additionally, he thanked state and county officials for their partnership and support and looked forward to joining the Athens-Clarke County community.
