Rockstar just announced that the first video for Grand Theft Auto 6 will be out on December 5, which is two days before The Game Awards.
This is the eighth main GTA game, and most of the information fans have is from leaks, not official announcements. The title “Grand Theft Auto 6” itself was leaked, as Rockstar Games hasn’t officially told us the name yet.
Rockstar Games Confirms Date and Time for the Trailer
Rockstar revealed the trailer news on November 8 but only mentioned it was coming “in early December.” It wasn’t until December 1 that they confirmed the exact time and date through a follow-up tweet. Fans can catch the new trailer at 9:00 AM Eastern/6:00 AM Pacific on December 5.
Although the tweet doesn’t specify where to watch it, it’s likely Rockstar will upload it to their
official YouTube channel.
As mentioned by Rockstar in November, the GTA trailer coincides with the studio’s 25th anniversary. Take-Two established the company in December 1998 as its “high-end” publishing label. While renowned for the highly successful Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead series, their studios also created games like Max Payne, Manhunt, and Midnight Club.
According to previous leaks, the next GTA, GTA 6, will mainly be set in a Vice City inspired by Miami, with certain parts taking place in South America. Unlike the 1980s setting of GTA: Vice City, the new game portrays it in the present day.
The storyline is said to draw inspiration from Bonnie and Clyde and revolves around two protagonists named Lucia and Jason. This marks the first time in a mainline GTA game since the original Grand Theft Auto in 1997 to have a female player character.
Rockstar has confirmed Grand Theft Auto 6’s first trailer release on December 5, just before The Game Awards. Leaks abound, revealing details, but the official title remains undisclosed. The trailer, announced on November 8, premieres at 9:00 AM Eastern/6:00 AM Pacific on December 5, likely on Rockstar’s YouTube.
