The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has announced the nominees for the 44th annual Sports Emmy Awards, with NFL Network’s “NFL 360” and NBC’s coverage of the XXIV Olympic Winter Games receiving the most nominations at ten each. The ceremony will take place on May 22nd at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall. Bryant Gumbel, who has made a significant contribution to sports journalism, will receive the lifetime achievement award. Adam Sharp, the president and CEO of NATAS, praised the quality of this year’s submissions and said the ceremony would celebrate those who bring the excitement of competitive sports into our lives every day.

The Sports Emmy Award nominations were recently announced, with nominees recognized across 47 different categories. These categories cover a wide range of sports media, including studio hosts, event analysts, live specials and series, documentaries, journalism, public service content, and Esports.

Among the top nominees are the 2022 NCAA March Madness, with eight nominations, followed closely by the 2022 FIFA World Cup with seven nominations. ESPN’s “Sportscenter” received six nominations, as did Fox’s coverage of Super Bowl LVII. ESPN led all networks with a total of 42 nominations.
