Bella Hadid is a prominent American fashion model and equestrian. She is also the younger sister of fellow model Gigi Hadid.
Childhood
Born in California on October 9, 1996, Bella Hadid is the daughter of Mohamed Hadid, a wealthy real estate developer, and Yolanda Foster, a former model and TV personality. With Dutch and Palestinian roots, Hadid has an older sister, a younger brother, two half-sisters from her father’s side, and five step-sisters from her mother’s side. Following her parents’ divorce, her mother remarried music producer David Foster.
Early Career
In 2014, Bella Hadid signed a contract with IMG Models and made her debut in the New York Fashion Week. She kickstarted her career by walking the runway for Desigual’s show. However, her big break came when she was featured in Balmain’s Fall/Winter 2015 ad campaign.
Heights
Bella Hadid’s modeling career skyrocketed within a short span of time. In just under two years, she made a name for herself by walking the runway for several prestigious brands at New York Fashion Week 2015, including Marc Jacobs, Diane von Fürstenberg, Tommy Hilfiger, and Tom Ford. She was the show-stopper for Jeremy Scott and also walked for Topshop and Burberry at London Fashion Week 2015. At Milan Fashion Week 2015, she cat-walked for Bottega Veneta, Moschino, Missoni, and Philipp Plein.
Hadid’s career reached new heights when she made her debut for Chanel at the Métiers d’Art show in Rome. She graced the cover of Seventeen magazine in 2015 and shot editorials for Vogue Australia and Elle. Topshop selected Hadid for their prominent holiday campaign, and she was also the cover-girl for the FW16 Issue of Twin Magazine. Additionally, Hadid appeared on Love Advent Day 14 and 15 for Love Magazine.
Bella Hadid was recognized as the “Model.com’s Break Out Star: Women for Reader’s Choice Category.” She also ventured into the music industry and appeared in two music videos: “In The Night” by The Weeknd and “Baby Love” by Jesse Jo Stark. In addition to her modeling career, Hadid also appeared in three episodes of the reality television show, “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
Hadid is a national-level equestrian player and has expressed her intention to participate in the 2016 Olympics.
Personal Life
Hadid is involved in a romantic relationship with ‘The Weeknd” Canadian singer. She was recenlty diagnosed with Lyme disease and is undergoing treatment.
