The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced plans to issue 100,000 golden visas to the world’s top programmers, as it seeks to establish itself as a leading global tech investment hub. The country is looking to double the contribution of its digital economy to its national GDP, with investment in AI and software development being key.
As part of this effort, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy recently hosted a workshop focused on software development and AI, which brought together top executives, business leaders, experts, and entrepreneurs to discuss opportunities and challenges in the industry. The UAE is aiming to position itself as a global leader in AI by 2031, with several priority sectors, including resources and energy, logistics and transport, hospitality, healthcare, and cybersecurity.
The UAE’s goal is to increase the contribution of the digital economy to the country’s GDP to 19.4 percent within the next decade through its “UAE Digital Economy Strategy.” The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy is dedicated to meeting these ambitious objectives and further establishing Dubai as a leading center for artificial intelligence and software development.
